When we plug our pepwave router (surf soho) into our network to use as a access point for internet in our maintenance shed, the unit disrupts our network assigning dhcp to random laptops. When I disable the dhcp in the router, we don’t have internet in the maintenance shed. Can someone give me the steps needed to have DHCP disabled in the router and still have internet access? thank you
You did not say exactly what was plugged in.
If you just want net access from the Surf SOHO, then plug its WAN port into your network. Devices in the shed will live in their own subnet and very likely be happy to do so.
If want your entire LAN to be a single subnet, it gets more complicated as you do need to disable DHCP and you would plug a LAN port of the SOHO into your network.
