I am plan on using a peplink max BR1 Mini 5g
with Verizon and AT&T sims/esims. The router will be used in multiple locations like an RV.
I searched these forums and I called Verizon and AT&T to confirm that I can use their Sims in the router to access 5g/4g cellular signal.
Verizon and AT&T were not as helpful as I would of liked - Verizon said the modem would have to be tied to a specific physical address, and AT&T pushed me towards a netgear mifi and told me a data plan would be about $100 a month.
Some of the posts on these forums indicate that people have been successful in getting Verizon and AT&T sims/esims to work with the BR1 Mini 5g.
Is there any guide or thread with instructions on how to get the this done?
Edit: I just saw the esim and multi carrier plans. That would solve the problem of trying to get multiple carriers working. That’s awesome!
Hi, I have a BR1 Mini HW3 LTE and we use global simcards. These simcards are roaming but they jump onto Verizon, T-Mobile and AT&T networks without any issues.
I have also used an AT&T simcard (LTE) for testing and it has worked without any issues. You pretty much insert the simcard and AT&T will automatically obtains an IP address from AT&T. For the global simcards i had to select “Data Roaming” to obtain an IP address.
Although none of this was on 5G, might give you some confidence in it.
Thank you! I watched several videos on this and did a bit of reading. I just took the plunge an hour ago. I will have it in a day or two.
I am incorporating this into a live stream project / product. I am still learning about what it’s capabilities are, but I am impressed by peplink overall. There is just so much functionality.
