Connecting a device with a static IP to Balance One

I have a Balance One router and I recently started working on a piece of legacy industrial equipment that expects a static IP of 192.168.72.85. My development machine is on a Balance One port which has a VLAN 20 and a network of 192.168.2.1/24 setting on the Network shown below. The piece of industrial equipment will be connected directly to port 7 of my Balance one(Nothing else will be on that port). What is the correct method of configuring the Balance on so I can access it from my development machine? So the two questions are

  1. How to configure Port 7 of my router to connect using a static IP the the piece of industrial equipment
  2. How to configure the VLANs so any traffic ,(Most likely from putty) from the Office VLAN 20, where my development machine is connected, to be able to access the piece of industrial equipment on Balance One, Port 7. The industrial equipment does not need access to the external internet.

What is the correct process to make this work?

Hello.
The device connect at port 7, support VLAN TAG?
Because… your picture, show port 7 in TRUNK (VLAN TAG) mode, so… the device only will recognize ethernet traffic, using VLAN TAG, also.

  1. Create a new vlan and give it the IP 192.168.72.1/24.
  2. Make port 7 a access port on your newly created vlan.
  3. Pray to the IT Gods that the legacy device has a defined gateway of 192.168.72.1
