We have received multiple inquiries on if it’s possible to connect a Starlink to a Max HD1 Dome Pro via a switch, without an intermediary router in between. And the answer - it is!
Some key details on the example’s configuration:
- Switch configurations:
A) Add an additional VLAN. In the example this is VLAN 10.
B) Configure the switch ports as such:
- Connected to Starlink - access port (VLAN 10).
- Connected to HD1 Dome Pro - trunk port (untagged - Default VLAN, tagged - VLAN 10).
- Connected to end hosts - access port Default VLAN.
- HD1 Dome Pro configurations:
A) Enable VLAN WAN in the dashboard by dragging it to priority 1, set its uplink interface as LAN with VLAN 10.
B) Enable Starlink in the Network > WAN settings, with interface VLAN WAN.
And this allows for the Max HD1 Dome Pro to have three WAN interfaces, while eliminating a need for another router.
