Hello,
I have a B One that I’m moving over the DNS provider to Control D. After a lot of experimentation it appears to be working. I can see the endpoint in the Control D dashboard and dnsleaktest confirms that I am using one of the Control D servers.
In their endpoint configuration they have an option for “Legacy Resolver”. It is currently on by default. This is the explanation in their documentation.
Any thoughts on turning this option off for the B One? I assume that by enabling “DNS over HTTPS” on the WAN (using the Control D provided endpoint URL and servers), and proxying the clients, the router does not need to support the legacy DNS protocols.
Setting up the DNS is rather involved. Mostly I ask this question to learn more about my configuration.
Thanks.
David
