Similar to How to Configure BR1 Mini HW1 as Bridge to Wired LAN? - #17 by AirBourn but I want something a little different.
I have an existing ethernet network: 10.0.1.X which has its own NAT + DHCP server.
The goal:
- Plug the Max BR1 Mini WAN ethernet port and have it pull a DHCP address: 10.0.1.x
- Plug a device into the BR1 LAN port, and have it also be able to pull a DHCP address from the 10.0.1.x network.
- The BR1 should run a WiFI SSID
- I’d like devices on this WiFI SSID to also get an address 10.0.1.x
In other words, I don’t want the BR1 to do anything other than forward traffic. It should not have its own address range, and I don’t want it to do NAT or DHCP, and I’m not using “WiFi as WAN”.
Many cheap WiFi access points do this, and usually it’s called “Bridge mode”.
What are the settings I need to use to accomplish this on my BR1 Mini?
