Cisco firewall, switches and peplink

Can the peplink balance work alongside or compatible with cisco Adaptive Security Appliance (ASA) as well as cisco catalyst switches.

Hi Christopherb,

Yes, The Peplink and Pepwave models play very nicely with Cisco devices that run a Cisco IOS like the ASA’s and Catalyst’s. We have deployed hundreds of Peplinks running either NAT Mode or Drop-In Mode with an ASA directly behind the Peplink. Please let me know if you have any other questions or need help deciding which device is best for your deployment just let us know.

Thanks, Mike

Thank you for the information Mike. When you say you have a ASA directly behind the peplink does this mean that the ASA is being used as the primary firewall and not the peplink?

Also, if you have the cisco ASA as your primary enterprise firewall and this has all the inbound, outbound rules and any other policies, does the peplink in anyway interfere with these rules?

If you have many VPN tunnels coming out of one site and going to others, can the peplink handle necessary traffic coming and going out of these VPN tunnels.

How about VLANs in your environment. With VLANs created and protocols set, does the peplink do any unnecessary management?
