I have been using this Cell SIM card for months, now all of a sudden it gives me this error “Cellular Sim - WAN Failed Smartcheck”
If I go to the SIM Toolkit I can pull up SMS Messages from the Carrier as follows " We have detected that your device is not compatible with Bait, please insert your SIM card in another device, you can check compatibility here "
My question is, is there a way to work around this?
I’m also having this problem and it’s quite annoying, given that I no longer can have fault tolerance if my main ISP goes down – the main reason why I bought this router. I’m interested in figuring out if there’s a better configuration for the SIM that avoids this issue or some kind of work around.
First question is what have they detected? Or rather is it a technical policy or a corporate commercial one? It sounds like your Mobile Network provider has decided you can’t use the SIM in the MAX and has blocked your use of it - that is why you are getting a smartcheck failure - there is not active internet connectivity available using that SIM in that device.
The only thing you can try is to disable health check completely and then try accessing the internet. Sometimes the mobile network operator will redirect you to a page that explains more which you won’t see if smartcheck has detected a failure (smartcheck stops traffic flowing on a failed WAN).

[/quote] If you MNO has blocked your device by its IMSI then no - your MNO has to unblock it.
