We’d like to see a way to update cellular module firmware without needing a router to be online. This would be helpful for remote sites and private network deployments alike. If a cellular module firmware update is needed, taking a device out of production to put online and do an update can sometimes be highly costly.
One suggestion would be to have the router firmware include the firmware for the cellular module and update that in sequence after the router firmware update is complete.

Hello…
Agree… A separate file to do this kind of upgrade, will be better for everybody.

Agreed, though I don’t know as it’d need to be rolled into the router firmware update.
I can’t understand why the cell modem firmware can’t be downloaded, verified, then flashed without a separate WAN link. Makes cell modem firmware upgrades troublesome.

I agree completely. I guess without a feature already built into the firmware to accept a file I was trying to work with what is already there. Being able to update the cellular module manually would be ideal.
