We’re encountering connectivity issues when migrating devices from NA/EU eSIM plans to Peplink’s Pooled eSIM Plan.
We have a number of devices deployed, including several Peplink Max BR1 Mini HW3 units. Some are on individual NA/EU eSIM device plans, while others are on a shared Pooled eSIM Plan. When we attempt to move a device from the NA/EU plan to the Pooled plan, it initially comes online after a 30-minute disconnect/reconnect period and appears to function normally.
However, after 24–48 hours, the device drops offline and does not recover on its own. In some cases, a reboot temporarily restores connectivity, but in most instances, the device must be reassigned to a new NA/EU eSIM plan to come back online.
If the device was placed on a Pooled plan from the start, there has been no issue. It’s only when migrating from device plan (NA/EU) to pooled plan that is the issue.
We opened a support ticket with Peplink. Their response has been that this may be a cellular firmware issue and they want me to install updates. However, the update must be applied via a wired WAN connection, requiring physical access to each site—a significant logistical challenge.
What’s unclear to us is why this issue only arises when migrating from NA/EU plans to the Pooled plan. If both the NA/EU and Pooled plans operate over the same carrier networks and use the same cellular modules, it’s difficult to understand what would cause this instability. Has anyone else experienced this behavior or been able to confirm a root cause?
