Cellular Connection is not able to connect - BYO eSIM

Hello, my Peplink model is MAX BR1 Pro. It seems that it is not able to obtain an IP address during Cellular connection with configured BYO eSIM. I can see never-ending “Connecting…” status, it doesn’t end up with some error, just all the time in the same state Connecting.

I successfully activated the eSIM in InControl2 via QR code (there was no possibility to enter SIM PIN code during this activation), after uploading QR I saw that activation was correct. Then I entered Web Admin → Cellular → Cellular Settings → Custom Selection → BYO eSIM → entered PIN → Saved.

Can somebody please help me resolve the issue?

Hello, I was just able to find a solution. I could not obtain an IP address because I also needed to configure the APN for my BYO eSIM. After correctly configuring the APN based on the guidance from O2, the Cellular finally connected successfully.

I have a same problem with other czech carriers. There is some bug. I have Peplink MAX BR2 Pro 5G and we see that one of our cellulars shows 2 identical eSIM cards even though there are 4 different eSIM cards loaded in the device. We opened new ticket with support and we hope it will be solved ASAP.

I hope that peplink will soon introduce a new version of Incontrol where we will be able to name and possibly easily move eSIM cards from device to device with a few click.
