I cannot seem to get my performance dish to connect to the Max BR1 Mini router. It did work for a while, but then stopped working. When I look at the dashboard it says “No Cable Detected”. I have been working with MMH over email and they say that there is nothing coming from the dish to the WAN port on the router. I have tested the Starlink with the starlink wireless router and it works fine. We also checked the WAN port by plugging an AppleTV into the port. We saw activity. I just updated the BR1 firmware this morning. I have been trying to source a new cable from the Starlink power brick to the BR1. I have a couple coming now. I can say that when it was working after I initially setup the system and it quit working, I did a complete system reset of the BR1 router and once again - it worked for a while and then quit.
Anyone have any other ideas on what to try next other than the cable? I am just not sure that is the issue given the reset has worked at least once. MMH has been great, but looking for a little more opinion on this one to make sure I resolve it once and for all. Thanks in advance.
Does it get a link light?
Try putting a small switch in between it?
I have a similar issue with another client, but I’ve yet to coordinate time with them to troubleshoot as they have been traveling.
When the ethernet cable is connected to the WAN port the light just slowly blinks. Since this post was made I also connected that cable directly to a pc and I do not get an internet signal. Starlink is sending out a new cable, but Ive tried quite a few. Don’t know how they all could be bad.
FWIW: In connecting a Starlink standard dish to a BR2 Pro, the ethernet connection on the BR2 side was unreliable. It seemed the cable just did not seat properly into the socket. A conjecture was that the ethernet plug supposed to go to the StarLink router (with the weather protection that entailed) was sufficiently odd to make the connection to the BR2 a bit loose.
@Dean_Thompson Update!
On Friday I drove to the clients site 12 hours round trip!
We tested a new performance terminal on the ground using the original power supply and cable and it worked fine.
We went up the roof and replaced the terminal, and it is not still up and working fine.
This was an odd and so far isolated incident where the terminal just stopped functioning , once replaced, thanks to starlink it has stayed up.
Is the Starlink updated to the latest firmware version? In the past, we had a problem with a faulty firmware where MTU settings were wrong, causing an impossibility to connect to the WAN of the BR1/BR2.
I was finally able to correct the problem. it was the cable between the dish and the power supply. We must have damaged it while pulling it through the cable conduit.
