I need to add a couple static routes to a PepLink Balance 305. I’m able to access /configure it remotely through Incontrol, via remote web admin. All the config changes I make work, but for some reason if I try to add a static route, it just disappears after it’s applied. It’s like there is some other system that is over-riding any static routes which are configured. I need to send traffic to another security device connected to the PepLink which is used to terminate a few VPN tunnels. How do I add a static route to the PepLink so that it actually is added to the routing table on the PepLink?
You have network settings configuration active inControl, it will overwrite whatever you put in on the local device with what is in inControl which is why it keeps disappearing. Been there, done that.
I had a similar issue with my PepLink a while back. What worked for me was turning off the configuration sync in InControl temporarily. After that, I made the changes directly in the web admin on the device itself. Once the routes were added and stuck, I turned the sync back on. I think InControl was just overwriting the routes every time. Also, double-check to make sure there aren’t any conflicting settings or policies in InControl that might be causing the routes to disappear.
try adding it in Incontrol2, at the group level, under “Network Settings” → “LAN Network Settings” → [your network profile, or create one]-> “Static Routes”
