Broadband bonding

Hi,

Can we use broadband bonding for internet traffic?, We are not looking for point to point WAn traffic. For a small office needs a higher internet bamdwidth for internet only traffic, can we use BPL-SDX to bond multiple broadband connection?

Thanks

Yes you can. You can use the SpeedFusion Protect service from Peplink as an endpoint for your bonding or you can host your own FusionHub and have a DIY endpoint for bonding.

SDX is a big box though. How many connections are you looking to bond? What types / Speeds?

Thnak you. 2 or 3 connections.

Can you eloborate what is fusionHub and how can I host it?.

To bond connections together you need a device with you that can accept multiple connections and use them at the same time. It then takes your traffic, splits it up and intelligently spreads them over the available links (this is SpeedFusion).

So now you have your traffic all split up into pieces and what you need to do is put it all back together again for it to get to and from its destination.

You do that by sending the traffic through a remote SpeedFusion Device.

In the enterprise this is often a device in the HQ.
If you are a home user you would use the SpeedFusion service from Peplink.
If you are a prosumer you would might choose to host your own SpeedFusion service to have full control end to end.

To create our own Speedfusion service we have two options. We can buy another Peplink device and host it in a datacenter (expensive) or we can use FusionHub which is a virtual machine that acts as a SpeedFusion end point and host that in a datacenter (much easier and cheaper).

Here is an old video of me setting up FusionHub so you can see the process Setting Up FusionHub on Vultr – Martin Langmaid – SDWAN Architect
