So I’ve been doing some testing and my BR1 Pro 5GN is much faster when it’s not CA and locked with n41 band only. When it started CA it was slower no matter if it’s n41+n25 or n41+n66 or n41+n71.
I’ve thought CA is to aggregate x2 bands and improve speed but not the other way around?
In most cases, you are correct, CA will give you better speeds. This is a function that is controlled by the tower/network and sometimes it can make choices that aren’t optimal for an individual user.
If you are in a fixed location it may be worth testing without CA for a few days back and forth. You can also likely improve the results by choosing custom band selection and testing each band one at a time - most likely one of those CA bands has really poor performance, or the network is giving you that band because it is saving other bands for clients who don’t support it… it’s a bit tedious but it can often help.
If it is a mobile scenario, I would leave it as is. CA will help you way more often than it will hurt.
