Hi @Steven_Toney . I think there are several other threads on this but the short answer is “no” – there is no utility that will help you with this task so far as I am aware. Given that situation, the approach we typically use is to open the GUIs of both devices in adjacent browser windows and copy/paste, page by page.
thanks… my balance 20X arrives tomorrow – how would have connect things up to get to both GUIs – not sure exactly how to put 2 routers on the same lan/subnet as I want to have the 20X take on the LAN settings of the existing SOHO - at 192.168.1.10 - the SOHO serves up the rest of the subnet IPs either dynamically for a portion of the addresses or for another portion by MAC reservation
sure would be nice for and easily way to transfer settings
I also have a connect relay and speed fusion stuff setup that links to my MAX BR1 5G in my camper van – updating all this may well be a PIA
Well, what I’d do is this … to start, I’d let the B20X be a client of the SOHO so you’d have both on the same subnet. Then you can see the GUI pages side-by-side and copy the various parameters from one to the other. I find it valuable to be able to see the pages in this manner when dealing with parameters where there is no room for error, e.g., firewall and SpeedFusion settings. What you can’t really do, as you’ve observed, is set the parameters for your desired subnet including the address of the B20X. I’d make a screen-print of that and enter the settings later – take it off the existing subnet and then set the LAN parameters so as to match the SOHO. Then, pull the SOHO off-line and replace it with the B20X. Others may have better ideas but that’s what I do.
The requests for a utility to transfer the settings in an “automated” fashion have been repeated _over and ove_r. And, I could not agree with you more. Partners have access to such a utility for older devices (e.g., From B210 to B305, for example) but not for newer products, so far as I am aware.
thanks again… planning the switch over – I also use incontrol2 and have the SOHO coonect to speed fusion – using it mainly to connect home setup of the SOHO to my other peplink link router in my camper van ( a MAX BR1 5G PRO) - I expect I need remove all that and resetup on the 20X… I also have a connect relay connecting to the SOHO that I need to remove and reset and reconfigure on the 20X
