Hey all,
after we had issues with our last realtime video transmissions (too many lost packets, too often stuttering video) I am looking for some best practice workflows to ensure a better result.
I was using the following setup and was only support the transmitting side:
1x Max BR2 or 1x B One 5G as Main Router and Synergy Controller with 2 or 1 cellular and 1 baseband Ethernet WAN (fibre, >200Mbit)
1x Antenna Max S with BR1 (1x Cellular) and Starlink as synergized device.
All WANs bonded via SFC.
The Stream went well for some time and than struggled with too many packets lost and went well again after some minutes before getting bad again and so on.
SRT Encoder had 180 or 200ms buffer. SFC had standard configuration with either Smoothing set to normal or FEC set to High.
Latency on the WANs has been between (2ms (fibre WAN) and 30-80ms for Starlink and Cellular)
Encoder connection was set to Priority (SFC > Fibre WAN > …) via Outbound Policies.
I am looking for anything that can improve my transmission. How do you calculate the buffer for the SRT encoder / decoder? Can I choose some better settings for realtime video transmission in the SFC Tunnel Settings? Jitter Buffer? Receive Buffer? Max Latency Difference? Congestion Latency Level?
Should I better set up my own SpeedFusion Hub?
Of course real time video is always demanding and a consideration between Latency and safety … but at the moment I am a bit stuck with my knowledge and the outcome.
Happy to hear from you.
Kind regards!
