Bandwidth Throttling?

Can someone tell me how to throttle bandwidth in IC2 for the B One 5G? I’m running an external captive portal. I don’t see a setting?

Bandwidth limiting / QoS config is directly done on the B One, there are no options in Ic2 at the moment to manage that part of the config.

Can someone explain how to do that? Thanks.

Login to your B One.

Go to Advanced > QoS > User Groups.

You need to define some groups, you can change the built in names and add some new ones if you want (from memory you are allowed up to 8 groups).

You need to then configure a way to assign users to a group, normally I’d do this by using IP subnets, specific IPs or IP ranges but there are a few other options that might work for you depending on your setup.

Click “add new rule” under the “QoS Clients” section.

In this example I made a rule that matches 192.0.2.0/24 and assigned that as “Guest”.

Now to configure the bandwidth limits go to “Bandwidth Control” under the QoS menu.

You can enable group reservations if you want (the values for how much bandwidth each WAN has you set on the main dashboard). This can be useful to enable if you have limited bandwidth and want to ensure that guests get as much as they need but cannot monopolise your connection in a way that might disrupt other users.

Otherwise enable the “individual bandwidth limit” tickbox and enable the user bandwidth limit for the group you assigned earlier, you can then specify the per-user upload / download bandwidth.
