I saw an earlier 2020 thread about band-locking not acting as expected on the MAX-TST-GLTE-G-T-PRM. I have just purchased one second hand and updated both the router firmware to the latest version (8.5.2 b5746) and the cell modem firmware (thanks support). I’ve set custom bands to the ones I want (T-Mobile, 2, 4, 12), but the modem insists on connecting to band 66. I have a hotspot upstairs which is most assuredly connected to band 12 - so it’s not the tower (or it’s connecting to a different tower - but the one the hotspot is connecting to is closest to me). Any insight?
Lots of playing around required, but seeing this thread online - LM960 Band Selection? - Wireless Joint - I decided to change the network mode to Generic, and started playing around with the 2, 4, and 12 band selections. Seemed to finally settle on band 12 as primary and 2/4 as secondary which was the desired configuration. I would still consider this a bug though (as having network mode set to Auto or T-Mobile did not shut off B66/71, even though they were disabled in custom settings).
