Balance one VDSL support

Hello Team,

i have a simple question :slightly_smiling_face:

i am going to replace my ADSL Lines with VDSL so does Balance one support VDSL ?

thanks in advance.

Hi. Yes you’ll be fine. Assumedly you’re using a ADSL modem (or ISP provided router) on the WAN of the Balance One currently. When you get the upgrade to VDSL you will get a new router from your ISP and that replaces your current ADSL modem and will plug into the same WAN port.

Awesome , thanks a lot for your help

Hello @fatnasa,
In Australia we have found the DrayTek Vigor130 modems in Bridge mode to work amongst the best with the VDSL services offer from the various ISPs, especially when using the NBN Co services such as FttN (Fibre to the Node).

You do need to make sure that you upgrade the units with the correct firmware for your region and how you plan to use them.

Avoid carrier supplied VDSL modems, in Australia Telstra has had Netgear removed the ability to put carrier supplied modems changed into Bridge Mode (this was done back in 2017).

Happy to Help,

I completely agree about the Vigor130, its a really stable modem, and easy to setup. Also works with ADSL as well as VDSL.
