I have a Balance One that has been extensively configured.
I’m thinking of upgrading to a Peplink B-One.
Will I be able to export the configuration from the Balance One and then upload that configuration into the B-One? (and ‘mostly’ keep all my existing settings)

Sorry… No… The backup/restore only work with same model of device.
Be sure to use InControl to configure the device as much as possible. If you do it this way, you won’t need to migrate any configuration.

A new feature within InControl2 allows you to migrate configurations between some of the Peplink models of devices (I’ve not seen the feature documented yet).
Basically, choose the configuration from InControl2 of the older device you want to push to the newer device; the newer device must be online (visible with Green Status to InControl2) to do this (please make sure it’s in the same group and has the same device tags beforehand). You can then choose what router to “Apply” the previous configuration to (thanks to @JamesPep from the InControl team for this info).

Thank you for your help. I’ve set the Balance One “Controller Management Settings” to “Controller = InControl” on the physical device. In my InControl2 Dashboard, I can see the device, but I don’t see where to choose the configuration of said device. When I click on the device link I see “Device Details” for the Balance One, but that just shows details. I’ve looked at the various options for the main menus (‘Reports’,‘Wifi AP’, Network Settings, Clients, Settings) but don’t see where to access the configurations.
My device has “EssentialCare Expired”. not sure this makes a difference or not.
