We have a pair of B310s in HA mode. It seems to me that they get extremely hot very fast, even after a half an hour. Over time, I cannot put my hand on them longer than a few seconds. They were open on the shelve that moment. Now they are rack mounted, but even the front side of the devices gets very hot.
They are idle almost the whole time for a lab setup, only maintaining a Speedfusion tunnel. No PoE or processing capabilities running.
I am getting a bit worried…
Does anyone have more experience with them?

All of our deployed Balance 310 HW5 units are running very hot, yet they have passed all relevant international and local certification tests. Over time, excessive heat can significantly shorten the lifespan of electronic devices.
In Australia, our customers can now access Fibre to the Premises (FttP) with speeds of up to 2 Gbps, and the Balance 310 HW5 is currently the lowest-cost entry-level device offered by Peplink that supports this capability.
We also see benefits in these units, with improved heat dissipation from a Peplink redesign or a Peplink-designed retrofit kit that removes heat.

Can you share your setup details? Mainly need to know which Ethernet ports are used and their negotiated speed. We will make same setup locally to check it locally. I would like to make exact same setup as yours in office.

This setup has been running idle for a few days but getting very hot:
All ports are negotiated at 1 Gbps.
Recently, I replaced the Teltonika switches used here by Peplink SD Rugged switches mounted together with the B310s in a 19" rack with open doors, making them even more crazy hot. No load on the machines in term of traffic, but these are on 2.5 Gbps for the WAN ports and 10 Gbps for the LAN ports.
