Is it possible to upgrade the Firmware from 5.4.9 build 1564 to 6.3.3 on a single upload or should this be done incrementally? Would I expect any fallout with the current running config after the upgrade?

No issue to upgrade from 5.4.9 to 6.3.3. You need to get a free license key to do the upgrade from 5.x. Please find the Tips and Tricks below.

Please take note, the latest firmware version for B310 Hw3 is 8.0.0.

Ok, any steps required to go from 5.4.9 to 8.0.0?
When is the key required during the upgrade?
Will the B310 reset to factory defaults or change to default device IP?

You should be able to upgrade straight from 5.4.9 to 8.0, but to be honest I haven’t tested this since it has been a while since I have seen a router with this version firmware!
In case fails (for any reason please upgrade to 6.3 firmware first).
You’ll need the firmware key before upgrading the router.
The configuration of the B310 will stay intact ; a firmware upgrade does not affect the configuration.
Once you have upgraded to firmware 8.0, you will no longer be able to form PepVPN tunnels with devices running firmware 6.1 or older, unless the firmware is updated.

Upgrade went as expected, no issues and this also fixed the Usage Reports which had stalled for several months. Went straight from 5.4.9 to 8.0.
