I have a Balance 305 running 8.5.1 and using as an authoritative DNS server and DHCP server on the LAN. I am trying to perform a DNS zone transfer over AXFR to a Technitium DNS server on the LAN. DNS zone transfers are working between this Balance 305 and another Balance 210 so I’ve confirmed my configuration is correct. The Technitium DNS Server IP is listed in the “Zone Transfer” list of authorized IP’s so this isn’t an access issue.
It looks like the Balance DNS server is not copying the Question section from the corresponding AXFR query message into the first response message’s Question section per RFC 5936 section 2.2
What version of DNS Server is under the hood for the Balance running 8.5.1? Is this TinyDNS?
