Balance 20x ESim Support?

Hey folks,

I have a Balance 20x and I am looking for LTE data plans for WAN fallback. I know I can order or go out and buy physical sim cards, but I hate crowds and stores (and people in general) so I’d love to be able to just go online and get an eSim. Unfortunately I can’t find any info on eSims for anything other than MAX devices. Do the Balance products support eSims?

Thanks in advance.

The esims are currently only available under the speedfusion connect plans or peplink profiles.

Balance 310x and Balance 20x both support esim.
There has been some talks and hope that peplink will allow other providers to use the esim, but it’s still hasn’t been announced.

Hi, and thank you for the reply. If I understand your comment correctly, for me to be able to use the eSim functionality, I need to pay for both the eSim plan and Speedfusion_?_ Is that right or am I missing something?

Currently the esim can only be used as “peplink” as the carrier, via the SPEEDFUSION CONNECT 5G/LTE plans. It’s only one plan.

Has this changed?

We just discovered we are about to lose our cellular carrier. We are faced with two choices - switch the physical sims for another carrier which is a tremendous logistical pain - or implement esim. We have about 60 Balance 20X in the field.

Thanks for your reply.

@Ben_Pernikoff - on current firmware the BYO eSIM option is fully supported. Here is a video on how to activate them:
