Balance 20X As Synergy Device

Please add support for Balance 20X to be used as a synergy device. I was wanting to add a newer Peplink and still have access to the Cat-7 on the Balance 20X as a backup connection, but it can only be used as a controller. Disappointing that a newer device is an unable to control the 20X. Thank you.

I might be interested in the same. I thought the B20x could work both ways.

Hey Team

Not that I have tried it - but have you?
Factory reset B20x with latest FW and what was your master device?

We’ve used B20x with BR1 Pro 5G and loads others (with B20x as master), but not the other way around.

The b20x cant be a synergised device at the moment because its modular, so its configuration can change.

I would also like it to be, so we could use it with a vdsl module in it to get a managable VDSL wan on the bigger peplinks.

Interesting!

@sitloongs - Thoughts on this one?

Hi Nik,

there are no plans to support B20x as synergised device in the near future. The main reason is that B20x is modular as Bryn wrote in the post above.

OK - this means also that SDX, SDX Pro, EPX etc. also can’t be synergy clients?

Not that anyone would be that crazy… :stuck_out_tongue:

Not yet. But who knows what future will bring us… maybe with next @AgentAdam project we will try to brake 101WAN record

I dream of synergizing 3 EPXs together, that would give us 300+ WANs.

Personally I would like to see the 20x to have the ability to be synergized.

I think a lot of people have upgraded the 20x to the B One, so It would be great to still make use of the old device.

Especially considering the VDSL module of the b20x… Again, we’ve never used it, but I can see some do still need this.

That is what we would use it for, grab a B one as new router and use B20x as synergized device. Just to confirm, the B one can act as both synergized device and a controller?
