Balance 20X 2.4 and 5G networks at same time ( seperately )

I have a large house, and we have multiple ( 7 ) mini split units for AC and heat. They have IOT connect devices in the units that ONLY work on the 2.4GHZ band, and with my current router ( a mesh system ) the units always disconnect and lose the network. I also wanted to get a Balance 20X to do dual WAN between our cable internet and a Starlink for redundancy

I need a router that will do separate wifi networks EG: one 2.4GHZ network for the IOT devices and one 5G / mesh for everything else.

Is this possible with the Balance 20X?

Short answer: Yes.

Longer answer: You can separate the IoT devices by providing a separate IoT SSID, offered only on 2.4Ghz. You can separate it further by tying that SSID to a separate IoT VLAN. Then maintain one or more other SSIDs for non-IoT devices, offered on either or both of the 2.4 and 5GHz channels.

Cheers,
