B One Throughput

What are people seeing in terms of B One Throughput ? I have a 20x is 6-700mbps at best. I dont have a lot of rules or advanced features enabled so surprised its that low. What can I expect on a B One with a 1 or 2gbps fiber connection? Thanks

The max Routing throughput for the B One is 1Gbps.

I have put the Balance 20x and B one next to each other in the Peplink router comparison: Peplink Router Comparison | 5G, LTE & Multi-WAN for Business & Home - Peplink

If you need higher throughput for current products that would be the balance 310x.

Thanks. Thats whats on paper. I am asking for real world.

I have not seen any B One underperform on their Routing throughput in real situations.

Same with my Balance 20x even got higher speeds than mentioned on the datasheet. :slight_smile:

The B One is surprisingly faster than the B20X.

When I had a 1.2Gb connection, I was seeing the same thing with the B20X, transfers topped out in the 600-700Mb range, but were sometimes down in the 300-400Mb range.

I did some experiments with factory resetting the box, and the results were inconsistent. Some configurations seemed to make things slower, but not always. (And now I can’t find my notes.)

The B One is consistently in the high 900Mb range.

I solved the problem by dropping back to 300Mb connection, once Comcast gave better upload speeds.

I did a whole bunch of testing when I bought my first B One, I am very impressed by what it can do. If you have a 1GB symmetrical connection, it won’t handle it. Best I did was about 600Mbit symmetrical or very close to gigabit in one direction. I did manage over 900Mbit with 2 USB network cards too and the best total router throughput (3 internet connections, 1 USB to 3 computers) was 1.4Gbit at about 60% CPU usage. Way higher than I ever managed through a Balance 305.

I did a bunch of testing with different USB adapters but I did test a few other scenarios I didn’t post and overall found it to be a very capable device.

That said, if you need faster, the new B310 has dual 2.5Gbit WAN and 4x10Gbit LAN and the new B580x is supposed to have more. No leaks on the total throughput of the devices but they should be out by end of year.
