Average power usage of MAX BR1 Pro 5G vs BR2 Pro?

Hi all,

I am wondering what real world average power usage you see with the MAX BR1 Pro 5G vs BR2 Pro?

I have a MAX BR1 Pro 5G in an RV (so low power usage is important, powered by DC 12v) but the delay in switching between SIMs is very annoying, so I’m I’m considering upgrading.

From the specs I see:

MAX BR1 Pro 5G - MAX: 19W Nominal: 8W
BR2 Pro: Without USB WAN MAX: 25W Nominal: 12W

Hey Jason, those numbers are pretty close. For example, a BR2 Pro uses around 10W on startup and 14W after fully booted, broadcasting wifi, and using both cellular radios. As data throughput increases and wifi associations/throughput increase, you will start to creep up to the 25W.

The BR1 Pro 5G numbers are pretty close, though I see about 9W when cellular and wifi are active and transmitting.

In my RV I use a BR2 Pro and a MAX Adapter 5G in there and it still uses amazingly low power.
