AT&T cellular connected with IP address but no internet

I recently purchased a Pepwave Max BR1 pro 5 G. I need to work cellular only. I have a 50 GB prepaid data plan with AT&T
I obtain an IP address but the WAN fails smartcheck. If I disable smart check I still am not able to connect to the internet.
How do I resolve this issue?

One thing to check is to see if the data plan requires a custom APN entry for the SIM.
The entry is done under the SIM settings on the same page you disabled SmartCheck.
