Hi,
We have configured an External Captive Portal from iControl2 but once an Apple device connects to the SSID, CNA doesn’t pop-up.
If we open a browser we are redirected and all works. But we need the CNA.
We have noticed this option by entering our device web admin page:
But How can we enable this from iControl2? We cannot find this.
Thank you.
You shouldn’t need to enable anything for the Apple CNA function to work if the captive portal is functioning as expected, i.e. denying internet access until a user authenticates.
In MacOS and iOS the device checks for reachability to a number of well known domains, if any of them fails then the CNA popup should appear.
Do you have something perhaps mangling DNS in a way that would prevent those checks from working as expected?
For example of the domains checked is https://captive.apple.com which returns an html page with “Success” if that doesn’t get returned the device will normally assume there is a captive portal in place and open the CNA.
We added only our portal URL/Ip in the walled garden entry so it should pop up.
As DNS we use Cloudflare and we tried even Google but it’s the same. CNA doesn’t pop up.
Hello,
I have the same problem.
Did anyone find a solution on this??
I cannot find this option in InControl2.
Kind regards,
