AP Password on Balance 20X - what is it?

Hello,

I noticed that printed on the bottom of my Balance 20X that along with the standard info (router IP address, default wifi SSID, default passwords etc) there is also a field listed “AP Password” with a (presumably default as well) value besides it.

However, I cannot find any reference in the manual to an AP Password, nor can I find anywhere in the Web Admin Interface that uses this. I also couldn’t easily find anything about it in the Peplink forums.

What is it? Maybe a password for the internal AP built into the Balance 20X? Or a password to enable external AP management?

Labeling it “AP” was a poor choice. Its the default Wifi password for the default Wifi network that the B20x creates when first booted. You should see that it is the last 8 characters of the LAN MAC, without the dashes. This formula has been used for the default Wifi password for a while.

Thanks Michael. Honestly it never crossed my mind as would never use the default Wifi settings, but really is as simple as that - I guess the saying that sometimes you can’t see something right in front of your face is pretty accurate here…
