AP Management on Balance 20

I am unable to update the Management VLAN ID in the Balance 20. Defaults to "LAN (No VLAN). I have been trying to get my AP’s to move the management into the utagged lan but am having 0 luck. I have hard reset one of the AP’s and it no longer works. Other AP still works but is no longer managed by the AP controller…

Peplink version: 7.1.0 build 3504
also tried: 7.1.0s026 build 3508

Last firmware pack I believe got applied to the APs is 1158.

These are run through a Netgear managed prosafe POE switch.

Ideas?

The Balance 20 comes with AP Controller Standard, which supports one configuration profile with multiple SSIDs. APs will share the same configuration and you can only manage APs on the local physical LAN.

Balance 305/380/580/710/1350/2500 comes with AP Controller Pro which supports multiple configuration profiles with multiple SSIDs and you can manage remote APs outside the local physical LAN.

Hello @Hi-C,
you may find this previous posting helpful about your switch

Have you setup your VLANs in your switch, based on our past experiences it is a must with the brand of switches you are using.
Happy to Help,

Thanks I got it figured out. All better now and Peplink gave a solid explanation.

I was apparently using a previously available feature that got moved the the pro version (or it was never meant for me and I was able to use anyway). Worked fine until I decided to do a config change. Anyway, after I moved the AP’s to the untagged LAN I neglected to move the PROSAFE that I was running them through. Once I did that, everything fired up quickly!

On another note, is there a fuse or anything in these AP’s that could be the culprit in PoE no longer working? Works great when plugged in but no power with PoE. Tried a separate verified PoE port and a different cable. One still operates well on PoE, the other has to be plugged in. Both on the same switch.
