I feel like there is a bug with this feature.
The Help instructions say this:
When the “Disconnect Clients” option is selected, clients whose detected signal is 6dB below the designated threshold will be disconnected from the network.
Here i’m testing it:
I have it set to 15, which apparently means -80dBm, which means clients below -86 dBm should be disconnected.
However, it looks like clients below -80dBm are disconnected:
Here, I’ve set it to 5, which corresponds to -90dBM which should mean clients below -96 are disconnected:
But I see that clients below -90 are disconnected:
Conclusion
This seems to be a documentation bug: The actual disconnection threshold is exactly what is shown in the UI, it is not 6 dBm lower than this.
P.s. this is testing with 8.5.1 rc 2 on a Balance One, in case that matters.
