Allow rules without SFC to avoid using expensive links in SpeedFusion Connect mobile app

In SpeedFusion Connect mobile app, I can set rules for certain devices/apps to use certain SFC setting (select a SFC cloud location, along with WAN Smoothing/failover/bonding types). However, it doesn’t allow rules for non-SFC links.

The basic use case is: I have one device/app with critical traffic, and I want to protect that critical traffic. However, this uses expensive links such as SFC LTE plan or regular cellular data. I don’t want all my traffic using these expensive links, as they are for backup usage. However, in order for SFC to work, I have to put these expensive links as “active links” too.

So by default, all other devices use all active links, including the expensive links which should be used only for critical traffic.

So my suggestions:

  1. Allow rules for a device/app to use ONLY certain active links, in order to avoid using expensive links for non-critical traffic.
  2. Have a default rule for “all other devices/apps” not in any explicit rules. This is to save the trouble since I have to create a rule for every device in my network, since all of them are non-critical. Instead of doing that for every other device, a default rule would help.

Normally, for a mobile app, the user interface should be as simple as possible. I understand that, however, that doesn’t mean it shouldn’t cover the most common use cases. I think the use case above (avoid using expensive links for non-critical traffic) is a pretty typical use case. It should be covered in the mobile app.

Another way of doing it: mark some of the expensive links as “active ONLY for SpeedFusion”. So these links will only be used in SpeedFusion, but not for non-SFC traffic (less critical traffic).
