Add ip address range to source and destination options of policy rules

Please add the ability to add an IP address range for the source and or destination of the rules in the interface. Another feature that would be helpful for me would be the ability to specify a mac address for source or destination but I understand if you guys don’t want to add that feature since this is a layer3 device.

Hi,

Believe you are referring to firewall rule.

We do support add an IP address range for the source and or destination of the rules in the interface.

We also support MAC address filtering in v6.2.

Great news that MAC filtering will be in v6.2.

I wouldn’t exactly classify subneting the same as an IP range. For example how would you represent the range of 10.10.10.22 thru 10.10.10.24?

Hi,

Understood. This request was out of ordinary implementation.

Anyway we recommend to use smaller subnet like x.x.x.x/29 to achieve this.

I’d like to second this request - I use DHCP reservation to segment devices of different types across ranges (e.g. 40-49 for IP Cameras). Using subnet masks isn’t adequate for this purpose without re-cutting all my ranges to 2, 4, 8, 16 IP addresses.

Is there a particular reason you can’t specify a range of addresses? I used to have a £30 TP-Link wan router that had this capability.
