8.5 IP Passthough Not Functioning Properly

Hey All -

So on 8.5 I setup the proper VLANs and enabled IP passthrough on both my cellular connections on my BR2 Pro.

When I plug a device into the proper port the correct public IP is displayed on the computer but if I am to go to an IP checking website - I get the IP of the secondary modem.

What is the proper flow to make sure each port is handing off its own isolated IP passthrough connection?

Hello…
Just double checking… Have you enable ip passthrough at your BR2?

Yes.

I never used IP Passthrough with VLAN.
Did you try to use this, without VLAN?

Its required to do VLANs on 8.5.0

I now believe this to be a firmware issue. I just setup another dual modem (different hardware type) and the same issue exists with a different carrier. @Lai

I have a ticket open as well: 24081085

@DanD ,

The Engineering team is working on the issue. We will update again when we identify the issue.

Thank you @sitloongs ! Were you able to replicate the issue?

Just as a followup Peplink did identify the issue and is currently in engineering.

Hello @sitloongs - FYI… I too am interested in this fix (experiencing the exact same issue with a BR2 Pro).

To note: Use case - IP passthrough to a SQM router, since SQM is still missing from the Peplink firmware.

Further testing has shown this appears to an 8.5 firmware issue, unrelated to a dual-SIM device. Experiencing the same issue with a B One 5G, when using multiple active wired WAN’s with cellular IP Passthrough.

To add… If my primary connection fails and my modem fails over to its secondary connection the IP never updates or passthrough.
