8.1.3 Firmware to 8.5.0 Firmware configuration

Hello All,

Need a clarification please in case someone knows the answer.

I currently own a Peplink Balance 20 HW1-6 which uses the Firmware 8.1.3, and I’ve just bought a Peplink B One which I’m assuming is going to either have an 8.4.0 or 8.5.0 Firmware. My question is, if I export the 8.1.3 configuration file, am I going to be able to import it into the new 8.4.0 or 8.5.0 Firmware? I know the B One has more settings such as Wi-Fi and others, but if it can at least partially import the current configuration I have, it will save me a lot of work before replace my current Balance 20 by the brand new B One.

Thanks a lot in advance,

Hi.
Export bpl-20 config file under version 8.1.3 and import it to B-ONE with version 8.4.x/8.5.x?
The answer is no. You can only export and import config using same kind of device.

Thanks. Was trying to export and import at least the huge list of DHCP reserved IPS. Guess I will have to print screen and then do it again in the new one.

If you’re handy with python or can use chatgpt, you can copy the source code of the page showing the DHCP reservations, reformat it into an acceptable format to import into your B One.

the correct format is comma-seperated with [name],[mac],[ip]

Found a better and easy solution. Both routers have the option under DHCP Reservation to change it to CSV format (click the little blue question mark). After doing it, I’ve just copied from the old router and paste it in the new one and finally click the little blue question mark again to set it back to normal view

Thanks again for all the answers, help and patience

setup the new ones in Incontrol2, not on the device, and then its even easier next time!
