5G wireless Internet sources changing IP

I am seeking a solution to an issue I’m experiencing. I use both ATT and Verizon 5G as internet sources, along with the Peplink One router, which has been excellent so far. However, I am encountering a frustrating problem with the 5G services: the IP address frequently changes and often appears to be in a different state or even across the country. This causes Geo-locators to misidentify my location, resulting in restricted access to certain websites despite being at home.

I’ve attempted several troubleshooting steps but haven’t found a permanent resolution yet. I’ve also been informed that these 5G services currently don’t offer static IPs, although they are reportedly working on it. Do you have any suggestions or potential solutions for this issue?

Speaking from experience with my global Peplink ISP hat on, GEOIP related issues can be really challenging. Both from an ISP and end user perspective.

If the IPs that have been assigned to you have ambiguous GEOIP status there is very little you can do about it, that is the responsibility of the operator / ISP, but even then .

Some ways to solve this are:

  1. If you have somewhere you can put another Peplink router on a fixed line (like a home or office fiber connection) then you can use SFC relay to send your internet traffic over both 5G connections using SpeedFusion VPN via the relay router that has a fixed IP with the right GEOIP status.
  2. Find yourself a Peplink partner who can host a SpeedFusion Endpoint for you and give you a clean public IP.
  3. Get an openvpn wan license and use that to connect to an incountry vpn provider to get a static geoip.
  4. Use a software VPN on your laptop/pc to connect to a 3rd party VPN provider that makes you appear in the right country.
