Does this operate as an SD or does it just show up once it’s plugged into a WAN port? Does it even need to use a WAN port?

Hi Andrew,

Can you please clarify what do you mean by “SD” ?

You can use 5G Adapter as a stand alone device to connect to cellular networks or build a modular system where you connect synergised 5G Adapter to a main router.

Sorry, Synergized device(SD) which needs a synergy controller(SC).

Hi Andrew,

5G adatper can work as a standalone device and as a Synergized Device (SD)

cool offering! wish it had usb too so it could plug-in to the usb ports on various peplink routers

Hi,

my mistake, the 5G Adapter current Firmware doesn’t support Synergy mode. SD should be supported in future.

Sorry for confusion.

I’ve done some testing with the 5G adapter and have a couple of questions:

Does the 5G Adapter not support IC2 Connection Tests? I have them enabled and setup for a group in IC2, but the button to perform connection tests doesn’t appear for the 5G adapter’s IC2 page.

I’ve looked through the settings and can’t seem to find a setting to enable IP Passthrough? The 5G Adapter FAQ doc says that it should be supported.

Is it intentional for the WAN Quality Report [-WAN-Analysis-Tool-] for the 5G Adapter to not display latency? or is this a bug?

EDIT: I meant WAN Quality Report, not WAN Analysis Tool. My apologies for the confusion.

5G Adapter currently doesn’t have IC2 Connection Test. We are not yet confirmed on this…

For IP Passthrough, we are preparing the 2.0.3 RC 2 and stay tuned about the IP passthrough mode.

For WAN analysis, I don’t think we have this and it is a bug to me.

Correction… my fellow colleague remind me that it is likely WAN Quality than WAN analysis. If WAN Quality without latency, then it does sound like bug.

My bad…
