I have tried running a 3G USB modem using a USB extension cable with the Balance 20, however it does not work. I wanted to use an extension cable so the modem can be located in a place with increased signal strength. The modem work when connected directly to the Balance 20, so I am sure the issue is the cable. I have tried two cables, a passive 1 meter and an active 10 meter. The modem with these extension cables work fine when connected to a laptop. Has anyone had success using a USB extension cable with the Balance 20, or is this not something the Balance 20 was designed to accommodate?
That’s strange, I have a Balance 30 with a short (about 50 cm) cable and the modem is recognised ok.
