With 2Gbps links becoming more and more common with Fiber and even cable, I was wondering what the plans were to support 2Gbps throughput + LACP on smaller routers.
We have 2 small branch offices with only 5 people in each, so we don’t need and can’t afford massive infrastructure, we are using B20xs with HA failovers for now and were considering upgrading to B One Plus routers with the idea of being able to maximize our throughput for transferring large files.
But then we realized that even the latest B One Plus barely can do 1Gbps without encryption. Ideally we could do 2Gbps with Speedfusion enabled to the main office. Our current provider offers 2Gbps Download/1.5Gbps upload through 2 1Gbps links aggregated through LACP.
Looking around, there are consumer grade routers that can do that (without encryption at least), including consumer grade network boxes from Comcast and others. Of course that is not what we want, but it means it is possible to achieve this performance using not overly expensive equipment.
So our question stands, what are the plans from Peplink. Any plans for a 2Gbps refresh on the BOne, with enough processing power to run encryption and routing functions without destroying the throughput?
Similarly, what are the plans to support WiFi8 in the APs. Currently we use AP One AX Lites but we are having degraded performance linked to interferences in particular. Our experiments with WiFi8 yields vastly superior performance in our offices.
