2026 AP One Enterprise shows as offline

Hello,

I use a Balance TWO router for my home office. I have used the AP One X to great success over the years but I wanted to upgrade to the AP One Enterprise.

My goal is to use the new enterprise as my main wireless AP and to create a mesh with my AP One X to extend my network throughout the house.

The B2 router shows the enterprise as offline. I put in the static IP address of the enterprise AP and I can log into it just fine. The router and both APs are on the latest available firmware.

I have AP Controller enabled for the management of the APs. It can see my AP One X just fine and it is working well, but cannot see the other one but knows something is connected. I have both hooked up to POE injectors. The enterprise is hooked up to a trendnet one rated for POE++.

When I log into the AP Enterprise, it shows that controller management is enabled so I am at a loss of what is going on.

I don’t have any of the new AP One Enterprise yet so this is just a shot in the dark but I assume it needs some minimum firmware version on your Balance Two, you could try updating it.

Also, if you upgraded the AP One E to 3.9.7 RC 2, you would need special firmware on the router. AP Firmware 3.9.7 RC 2

Poking through the release notes for the most recent router firmwares might tell you or you could just try 8.5.4 GA release and see if that helps. If you back up your settings, it’s really easy to reboot these routers back to the previous firmware if you have issues with the new one

Hi Kovlin,

Thank you for that. That update did work and my B2 router was able to see and manage the new AP1E.
