Wi-Fi or cellular modem connection advantages?

I have the Pepwave Surf On-The-Go and an AT&T Unite Mi-Fi hotspot. The hotspot is a Netgear AirCard 781S Mobile Hotspot.
I have connected via Wi-Fi. It doesn’t look like this unit is supported for direct USB connection from what I can see.

1.Is there any advantage to connecting directly via USB or will the performance be equal using the Wi-Fi setting?

  1. In the AP settings should I use the same password as the Mi-Fi?

Hi Wado, the Wi-Fi connection method will work just fine. Under the AP settings you can use any password of your choice.

I have an AT&T Unite that I would like to tether as well. Has there been any progress on getting this to work on the Surf SOHO via USB?

I am not aware of any changes since I posted this question. I have been using it very successfully using the WiFi connection.

Surf Soho able to support USB tethering. Please open ticket here if you facing problem.
