So basically i want to avoid any delay when switching connections from DSL to LTE 4G.
I was told there are two technologies “load balancing” and “channel bonding” from what i understand load balancing can have a delay, i need 100% uptime.
I also will need firewall.
Our loadbalancing mostly deals with how sessions are routed out active WAN connections. This can deal with fail-over but most of the time is in reference to active WAN connections. More information about the algorithms can be found here.
Bonding does offer failover by bonding two or more WANs together. This way if one connection does go down, the remaining WAN can still be used to route traffic. More information about this can be found here, this link also contains a video that shows how effective bonding with cellular can be.
Most of our devices have either a cellular module or a USB port that supports a Cellular USB connection. A list of USB Modems that we support is listed here. As we don’t fully know what your needs are, it can be hard to make a recommendation. If you’re looking for something small with a native cellular modem, you may want to look at one of our BR1s or the Transit. If you are looking for something with more than one cellular modem the HD2 and HD4, as well as several other routers can handle this.
I would recommend reaching out to one of our partners as they will be able to work with you closely to find the best solution for you needs. A page of our partners can be found on our site.
