A B One now offers 200 mbps speedfusion vpn throughput (256-bit AES)
If one wants more speed than that, what is the next model to upgrade to?
Thanks very much!
Those look great, but it would be nice (for me at least) if there were something in between the B One and the 310x, which looks fantastic, but is 10x the price. (starlink will be a backup wan, so I wouldn’t be using the LTE/5g modems for this)
(granted the B One is an extraordinary value, it’s hard for me to make “a little upgrade” when the next upgrade is 10x the price.)
Hi…
The problem is that Peplink stop to produce devices between SoHo and medium offices.
Take a look at
EOL for bpl-210 / bpl-305 / bpl-380 / bpl-two.
I wonder if a new Balance Two might be coming this year?
It would be nice to have an upgrade option from the Balance One for those without the budget to go all the way to the 310X.
The 310 5G is also in there, a bit cheaper than the 310X and also a Primecare device (which the 310X is not).
But I agree that something between the B One and 310 would be good.
Thanks! That is a better price point for me – wish it had a dedicated second wan and a couple more lan ports though. It has the cpu for the vpn throughput I’m looking for though, so that is what I asked for.
Use case is router where Fiber/Cable will be WAN1 and Starlink will be WAN2, where session and IP can be maintained if WAN1 drops for whatever reason.
The 310 5G is Primecare, so it comes with a WAN-on-VLAN license as part of primecare, so you can use the 1x WAN and set a lan port to the vlan for wan-on-vlan for a second wan.
It has 5x RJ45 and 2x SFP lan ports. If you use one RJ45 lan for wan-on-vlan you still have 4, and you can get sfp-rj45 SFPs from fs.com cheaply to use the two SFP ports as RJ45 if you want.
Depending on your country, you may also be able to get the 310 Fiber 5G, which is very similar. It has 1x 5G and WIFI instead of 1x 5G & 1x 4G, and one of the SFP ports is a wan port. Still primecare, so it has 1x rj45 wan, 1x sfp wan and a wan-on-vlan license through primecare.
