VLAN on AP One mini connected through switch

Quick question…I hope…

Have a balance one router and an AP one mini. I have a number of VLANs configured for network segmentation. I’d like to have a wired ethernet connection at the AP (just to connect Roku). Was thinking of getting a cheap switch and plugging AP into that.

Question…would the VLAN security be diminished with this configuration?

The VLANs are largely to keep my kid’s tablets/guest devices (always on WIFI), Roku, work computer, and trusted personal computers separate from each other. I would never connect any trusted computer into the proposed switch. The trusted computers are connected directly to router on occasion.

As I understand it, the WIFI is managed and secured by the router even if the AP is connected through a switch…though I may be mistaken on that.

Thank you!
