Vehicle To CO communication availability demo

Hi, please can you help me clarify following.
Our use case is vehicle to CO office communication, where we have planned to use:

  1. hd2 with 2 sim populated, 2 radios, 2 antennas
  2. in CO we have been thinking Balance router we need recommendation on part #
  3. we have 1 landline ISP connection with static IP for CO

For initial testing our plan is only one vehicle and most important use case for us is seamless failover and uninterrupted session as we are losing coverage from one MNO.

To our understanding Speed Fusion on Balance 310 in CO and HD2 on vehicle will exactly enable us to demonstrate this use case and we would not need anything else. Initially we are less concerned with throughput aggregation and achievable BW.
We are getting confused since some local rep is stating we need Amazon AWS to support this !.

Can you please confirm.

thank you in advance

Hi Bojan - Welcome to the forum!

For your test the HD2 and B310 will let you demonstrate Speedfusion bonding and hot failover between multi-cellular connections in the vehicle and multiple fixed lines in the CO.

I suspect that the reason the local rep is suggesting the Fusionhub virtual appliance instead of the B310 is that you can get a free FusionHub Solo license (limited to connecting to one remote device @ 100Mbps of max throughput).

So. If you just want to prove hotfailover / Speedfusion Bonding you could just use the HD2 and FusionHub hosted in the cloud (or on a VM in your CO).

Hope that helps.

Thx Martin
We could not use Amazon AWS for other reasons.
In this demo we have to validate behaviour of our applications over public LTE NW and demo will have our applications running on the hosts behind hd2 and balancerouter.
Just to clarify one more thing in this demo we only have one landline ISP connection for CO does SpeedFusion Hot failover is still possible in this scenario.
Normally in real deployment we would always recommend multiple ISP connections for CO as well.

Also what would be the best platform if we start scaling up to 200 vehicles for balance router side in CO.
Thank you

Doesn’t have to be AWS or public. Could be a internally hosted privately on hyperV, vmware or KVM VM.

Yes that’s fine.

The Balance 710 supports 400Mbps of vpn throughput and up to 300 remote peers so you would start there. You might consider the B1350 anf B2500 if you need more throughput.
