I’m attempting to use the firmware 8.3.0 feature in my max br1 pro ltea cat 20 device that allows one to make outbound policies that apply to specific client types. I’m just trying to force ip cameras to use specific WANs (and not others). However in the status-> client list, all clients show as “unknown client type”. There is a message that says “Custom Type information is provided by Cloud.”
I have no idea what this means or how to get the information.
Really I’d only like to assign my own arbitrary custom type - may as well call it a client group - to any client I want instead of having to enter the ip’s for the outbound policy. There are only two cameras at the moment, so it’s not really a big deal to enter the ips and create separate rules, but the feature was there in the release notes so I’d like to use it if possible. What am I missing? Is this something where you have to spend $100 a year to get a care package? If so, I’m dismayed. I spent $1200 on a router for my boat, I don’t really need all these fancy fleet monitoring packages.
How about using only the manufacturer id of a mac address as the outbound policy source - is that possible? If so, how do I format the data in the field to include just the first half of the mac address? Thanks in advance…
