Hello,
When I go into the Advanced tab on my Surf Soho and try to edit the outbound policy rules, I can’t drag the wan connections under a priority algorithm now. It functioned normally earlier, though I haven’t had to make any changes in a while, so I’m not sure for how long.
The only major changes I’ve made recently are:
- upgrading to 8.3 firmware and
- enabling InControl.
There’s always a chance firmware changes something, but since I don’t see anyone else having the issue I wonder if its something in my settings.
I could see INControl having an effect, but I can’t change it from the InControl interface either.
Does anyone have any ideas?
Which web browsers have you tried? From time to time with different browser updates this has broken and then returned to normal for me. I’m a Firefox user myself.
Thanks for the quick reply!
I tend to separate my browsers for different functions (chrome for open tabs and local monitoring, brave for VPN, etc.) so maybe theres something here. But I just switched to a new window with Edge and Brave and both had the same issue. Also, the three horizontal line “handle” appears on the WAN connections on the dashboard and in the outbound policy rules, but inside the outbound policy rule window when you select “Priority” for the algorith, there are no handles showing. Not sure of any other way to change them.

Well I just checked and yes under a policy rule the handles should be there. So I’d say either boot into the previous firmware and see if they reappear or just open a ticket and let the support folks take a look.

OK, at least I know it isn’t something I’m doing…
I’ll open a ticket. Thanks for your help.
Have you tried incongnito, or clearing your browser cache?
Thought I’d provide a quick update. Worked through it for a couple days with PL. Tried to upgrade the firmware a few steps at a time and also factory reset but still found the same behavior.
However, I did discover a strange workaround. On the Surf Soho there is no “Outbound Policy” tab, it is under the SpeedFusion PepVPN page, but functions the same. However, if I manually enter
http://{IPaddress}/cgi-bin/MANGA/index.cgi?mode=config&option=outboundpolicy
Just the outbound policy page comes up and when I enter the rules on this page, the handles have reappeared.
Not sure why and definitely seems like a strange error happening on my router, but if anyone else faces a similar problem, this works for me as a workaround solution.
